Craftsmanship
Born from a Family Recipe & a Dream
Green Lantern Pizza was founded in 1987 by the Martino family in Clinton Township, Michigan. What started as a small corner pizzeria with a secondhand oven and a grandmother's handwritten recipe book has grown into a beloved local institution — while staying true to every original ingredient and technique.
Every pizza we make reflects decades of passion. We hand-stretch our dough daily, use only locally sourced fresh vegetables, and slow-simmer our signature tomato sauce the same way it's always been done. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just real pizza made with real love.
Locally Sourced Ingredients
We partner with Michigan farms to bring fresh, seasonal produce to every pie.
Stone-Baked Perfection
Our pizzas are baked in traditional stone ovens for that perfect crispy crust every time.
Community at Our Core
We sponsor local events, support schools, and give back to the neighborhood we love.
Our Core Values
Everything we do is guided by a simple set of principles that have shaped our pizzeria since day one.
Freshness First
We never use frozen dough or canned sauces. Every ingredient is prepared fresh each morning before we open our doors.
Family & Community
We treat every customer like a guest in our home. Our staff are long-term team members who share our passion for great pizza.
Uncompromising Quality
We source the finest ingredients and follow time-tested techniques to deliver pizza that consistently exceeds expectations.
Sustainable Practices
We compost food waste, use eco-friendly packaging, and are committed to reducing our environmental footprint year after year.
A History Baked with Pride
From a small family kitchen to a community landmark — here's how Green Lantern Pizza grew over the decades.
The Grand Opening
Salvatore and Maria Martino open Green Lantern Pizza on 15 Mile Rd with just four tables, one stone oven, and a dream. Lines formed within the first week.
First Expansion
Demand grew beyond capacity. We doubled the dining room, added a second oven, and introduced our now-legendary Specialty Pies menu — including the Green Lantern Supreme.
Community Recognition
Named "Best Pizza in Macomb County" by the Detroit Free Press. We began sponsoring local youth sports leagues and school fundraisers across Clinton Township.
Second Generation Takes the Helm
Sons Marco and Antonio Martino join full-time management, bringing fresh ideas while honoring their parents' recipes. Catering services launched this year.
30th Anniversary Celebration
We celebrated 30 years with a week-long community festival, a limited-edition anniversary pizza, and a formal commitment to sustainable sourcing from Michigan farms.
Online Ordering Launched
We launched our full online ordering platform, making it easier than ever for our community to enjoy Green Lantern Pizza at home. Our legacy continues, one slice at a time.
